Kids say the darndest things

I have often heard that every girl should have a gay best friend. Well, I've had one for the longest time and while he is totally fun and amazing he has never once told me I look terrible in an outfit, my butt is too big, or that I'm getting fat. Maybe I picked the wrong guy to befriend, but at the same time he's always boosting my ego. I mean, who doesn't like an ego boost?

But after this weekend, I have decided that I don't need a gay best friend to tell me about my appearance. Instead I need a child (no I am not going to have one, just borrow one).

This weekend was tax free shopping weekend in Oklahoma. Parents and people where coming out from under the woodwork trying to buy clothes and not pay taxes. Granted it is only a little over 8%, but there are always a ton of sales that weekend also. I won't lie, I was one of those idiots buying school clothes for my siblings. I love them, and wanted to take advantage of the super deals. I spent $165 and saved $229. Can't beat that!

Anyways, back to the story. Well as I was walking in one of the stores I couldn't help but over hear this woman and her daughter. The woman was looking at some clothes and the daughter all of a sudden blurted out, "Look mom they sell leggings for fat people."

Sure children may not be able to match their own clothes, tie their own shoes, or even fix their own hair... but they will sure let you know when you look funny, get fat, or are even remotely different from what they are used to.

You are so right...and then they go talk about you to everyone they meet!

I just wanted to stop in and say hi to a sorority sister! I hope you are having a great day. I think it is wonderful you were buying stuff for your siblings...nice.
